  • Feature Articles

    Sponsored features are journalistic-type articles placed in a business publication. Because they compete for attention with standard editorial, they must offer enough value for clients to click on them and read to the end. 

    These articles are a balancing act—they need to serve the reader as well as the article's sponsor. For instance if you're selling accounting software you could educate readers about an upcoming tax law change, while showing how your product helps them navigate it.

  • Ghostwriting and Content Coaching

    Most professionals have knowledge to share that would offer value to their market and advance their own careers. But many need help turning that knowledge into words. 

    A good ghostwriter looks at the world from the professional client's point of view. The ghostwriter works with the client to flesh out the points he or she wants to make, and captures the client's voice in the final copy.

    I first learned this skill in the 1980's as a writing coach at Harvard, and have since honed it by working with professionals that included management consultants, CEOs, and engineers. I've helped them write stories that ranged from technical magazine features to thought-leadership pieces.
